Welcome to Jawology!

We’re an Australian-based clear aligner company that’s committed to helping you achieve a confident, healthy smile - safely, affordably, and with the support of Australian-registered dentists.

These Terms of Service outline how we operate, what to expect from us, and what we ask from you in return.

By purchasing or using any of our products or services, you agree to the terms below.

 

1. About Jawology

We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website and applies to future purchases.

 

2. Eligibility & Clinical Approval

To start treatment, you must:

  • Be 18 years or older, or have parental/guardian consent.
  • Complete and sign Jawology’s Intake & Consent Form.
  • Undergo a clinical review by one of our Australian-registered partner dentists.

Jawology and our dentists reserve the right to decline or postpone treatment at our discretion if your case is deemed unsuitable for clear aligners.

 

3. Payments

We accept:

  • Credit and debit cards
  • AfterPay
  • Bank transfer
  • (More options will be added soon.)

If visiting the website from Australia, prices will be in Australian dollars (AUD) and include GST where applicable. Check region selector at the bottom of the website to confirm currency.

 

4. Assessment Fee & Refunds

Every treatment request is reviewed by a registered dentist.

A $250 assessment fee applies to cover this professional review.

Refunds are handled as follows:

  • Before clinical review: Full refund (excluding any scan or impression kit already supplied, as these are non-refundable).
  • After dentist review but before aligner fabrication: Refund minus the $250 assessment fee.
  • After aligners have been fabricated: No refund available.

Refunds are processed within 7 business days once approved.

If you purchase an impression kit and later decide to begin treatment, the kit cost will be credited toward your treatment total.

 

5. Change of Mind & Impression Kits

If you change your mind after ordering an impression kit or scan, there are no further charges — but these items are non-refundable once dispatched or used.

Impression kits must be returned unused and unopened if you’d like to receive a refund (customer pays return shipping).

 

6. Shipping & Delivery

We ship Australia-wide, to New Zealand, and USA/internationally.

  • Orders require a signature on delivery.
  • Ownership and risk transfer to you once the courier marks the parcel as delivered.
  • Please make sure your address is correct before checkout.
  • All returns must include a tracking number for safety.

Return shipping responsibilities

  • Defective or incorrect items: Jawology covers return shipping once verified.
  • Change of mind (unused kits): Customer covers return shipping.

 

7. Treatment Suitability

All treatment plans are subject to final clinical approval by your reviewing dentist.

If your dentist deems you unsuitable for clear aligner treatment, you’ll receive a refund minus the $250 assessment fee.

 

8. Treatment Results & Compliance

Everyone’s teeth move differently. While our dentists create your plan based on your scans and photos, individual results vary, and perfect outcomes can’t be guaranteed.

To ensure the best results, you must:

  • Wear your aligners as instructed (typically 22 hours per day).
  • Submit monitoring scans or updates when requested.

Failure to comply may void eligibility for free refinements or adjustments.

 

9. Refinements & Replacements

  • Each treatment includes one free refinement set (if clinically required).
  • If a new scan or impression is needed for refinements, this cost is paid by the customer.
  • Additional refinement sets beyond the first are chargeable depending on how many trays is involved with the refinement stage.
  • If you lose or damage aligners, replacement aligners will incur a fee, based on how many trays need to be remade.

 

10. DentalMonitoring & ScanBox

If you receive a DentalMonitoring ScanBox, it remains your property and is for personal use only.

If the ScanBox is lost or damaged and you require a replacement, a $150 replacement charge applies.

 

11. Defective or Faulty Products

If an aligner or retainer is found to be defective or doesn’t fit correctly:

  • We’ll replace it free of charge, once sufficient proof (photos, video, or dentist confirmation) is provided.
  • If the issue is caused by incorrect use or non-compliance, replacement costs will apply.

 

12. Limitation of Liability

We do our best to provide safe, high-quality products and care, but some factors are outside our control.

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Jawology’s total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the product or service.
  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss (such as loss of income, time, or expected results).

 

13. Indemnity

By purchasing or using Jawology products, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Jawology, its employees, and partner dentists from any claims, damages, or costs arising from:

  • Misuse of products
  • Failure to follow treatment instructions
  • Providing inaccurate information in your Intake or Consent Form

 

14. Force Majeure

Jawology is not liable for delays or non-performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control — such as supplier delays, transport issues, natural disasters, or global events.

 

15. Dispute Resolution

We’re always happy to help if something doesn’t go as planned.

Before starting any formal process, please contact us at help@jawology.com so we can work to resolve the issue directly.

If the issue remains unresolved, both parties agree to participate in mediation through the Queensland Law Society before taking further action.

 

16. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and any disputes will be handled in Queensland courts.

Mobile Terms Of Service

The Jawology mobile message service (the "Service") is operated by Jawology Pty Ltd (“Jawology”, “we”, or “us”). Your use of the Service constitutes your agreement to these terms and conditions (“Mobile Terms”). We may modify or cancel the Service or any of its features without notice. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we may also modify these Mobile Terms at any time and your continued use of the Service following the effective date of any such changes shall constitute your acceptance of such changes.

By consenting to Jawology’s SMS/text messaging service, you agree to receive recurring SMS/text messages from and on behalf of Jawology through your wireless provider to the mobile number you provided, even if your mobile number is registered on any state or federal Do Not Call list. Text messages may be sent using an automatic telephone dialing system or other technology. Service-related messages may include updates, alerts, and information (e.g., order updates, account alerts, etc.). Promotional messages may include promotions, and other marketing offers (e.g., cart reminders).

You understand that you do not have to sign up for this program in order to make any purchases, and your consent is not a condition of any purchase with Jawology. Your participation in this program is completely voluntary.

We do not charge for the Service, but you are responsible for all charges and fees associated with text messaging imposed by your wireless provider. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Check your mobile plan and contact your wireless provider for details. You are solely responsible for all charges related to SMS/text messages, including charges from your wireless provider.

You may opt-out of the Service at any time. Text the single keyword command STOP to Jawology or click the unsubscribe link (where available) in any text message to cancel. You'll receive a one-time opt-out confirmation text message. No further messages will be sent to your mobile device, unless initiated by you. If you have subscribed to other Jawology mobile message programs and wish to cancel, except where applicable law requires otherwise, you will need to opt out separately from those programs by following the instructions provided in their respective mobile terms.

We may change any short code or telephone number we use to operate the Service at any time and will notify you of these changes. You acknowledge that any messages, including any STOP or HELP requests, you send to a short code or telephone number we have changed may not be received and we will not be responsible for honoring requests made in such messages.

The wireless carriers supported by the Service are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. You agree to provide us with a valid mobile number. If you get a new mobile number, you will need to sign up for the program with your new number.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree that we will not be liable for failed, delayed, or misdirected delivery of any information sent through the Service, any errors in such information, and/or any action you may or may not take in reliance on the information or Service.
